First and foremost, Dr. Andrew is human. He believes connection is essential to healing, whether that’s through humor, empathy, or simply being present during life’s challenges. Patients describe him as approachable, warm, and deeply invested in their well-being.
When he’s not caring for patients, you might find him outdoors, traveling, or enjoying music. Dr. Andrew plays string bass, flute, piano, and a bit of saxophone, and yes, he’ll happily join you for karaoke night. A Path Shaped by Experience and Vision
Dr. Andrew’s journey as a physician is rooted in rigorous training and a desire to provide care that feels personal:

- Residency: Family Medicine at MercyOne in Waterloo, Iowa
- Subspecialty Training: Palliative Care at the University of Wisconsin

Our logo carries a story close to Dr. Andrew’s heart. Growing up in Taiwan in the early ’90s, he remembers how medicine was once wrapped by hand in small paper packets. Each fold represented a moment of personal care and intention.
Those handmade pill packs inspired the Bayberry Clinic logo and philosophy. Just as those packets reflected focus and compassion, Bayberry Clinic is committed to providing intentional, human-centered healthcare in every interaction.
A Third Culture Perspective
Dr. Andrew’s upbringing as a U.S.-born, Taiwan-raised “third culture kid” shaped his values and worldview. His journey has taken him from Taiwan to San Diego, then to Des Moines, Waterloo, Madison, and finally Portland, a city he’s proud to call home since 2022. This background fuels his passion for inclusivity and understanding, ensuring that every patient, regardless of identity or background, feels safe and respected.
